The University of Nevada at Reno – College of Business, University of Nevada Las Vegas – Center for Business & Economic Research, Western Nevada Development District, Nevada Industry of Excellence and USDA Rural Nevada are presenting the 2nd Annual Nevada Economic Development Conference.
WHO:
Attendees will include economic developers, elected and appointed officials, business owners, utilities, banks, educators, manufacturers, the mining industry, transportation representatives, agribusiness, and anyone interested in connecting with Nevada’s economic development network. Anticipated attendance is 350.
Building a Stronger Nevada is presented by the Western Nevada Development District, University of Nevada, Reno College of Business, the University of Nevada, Las Vegas Center for Business & Economic Research, USDA Rural Development and Nevada Industry Excellence.
WHAT:
The conference will provide opportunities for a broad section of professionals to explore and share ideas, programs, services and products that will help shape and strengthen Nevada’s changing economy. Up to 21 – 75 minute sessions, 6 – 2.5 hour institutes, 6 offsite tours, opening general sessions presenting keynote speakers as well as lunch each day are included in the $125 conference fees. After June 30th, registration fees increase to $150. The Pre Conference Workshop, Fundamentals of Economic Development, will be held Tues., Sept. 20 from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm for an additional $75.
Tracks for the conference, Wed., Sept. 21 and Thurs., Sept. 22 include Agribusiness, Business/Entrepreneurship, Economic Development/Vitality, Energy, Manufacturing, Transportation/Infrastructure and Workforce Development.
WHEN & WHERE:
The pre-conference workshop and conference is scheduled for September 20 to 22, 2016 and will be held at the University of Nevada, Reno at the Joe Crowley Student Union. In 2017 the conference will be located at UNLV.

Building capacity, increasing efficiency, and promoting innovation to proactively respond to Nevada’s rapidly changing economic environment.

Conference – $125 (after June 30 $150) – Includes opening sessions with keynote speakers, institutes, tours, educational sessions, Exhibit Hall Reception, parking and luncheons for both days.
